Social Media and Content Marketing Manager

The Social Media & Content Marketing Manager is responsible for growing and engaging our community through compelling content across social media and in-app channels. This is a hands-on role that owns content from idea to execution to performance reporting. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, data-driven, and comfortable moving quickly in a fast-paced environment.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Content & Social Strategy
- Own and execute Shopkick’s social media and content strategy, ensuring all content is engaging, on-brand, and aligned with user behavior.
- Manage the content calendar across all social platforms and in-app placements.
- Explore new platforms, tools, and influencer partnerships to expand reach and engagement.
Content Creation & Execution
- Create, film, and edit original content, including videos, photos, reels, GIFs, carousels, and sponsored posts.
- Balance creative storytelling with performance goals and metrics.
- Oversee content tied to client sponsorships, ensuring quality, accuracy, and on-time delivery.
Performance & Optimization
- Track and analyze content and social performance, identify trends, and optimize strategies in real time.
- Partner with Analytics to refine insights and inform future content decisions.
- Manage the social and content budget, including paid incentives and giveaways.
Community & Collaboration
- Manage community engagement and social moderation, ensuring timely and professional responses in coordination with Customer Success.
- Lead creative brainstorming sessions and collaborate closely with designers to maintain brand consistency.
- Work cross-functionally to align content with broader marketing initiatives and maintain the integrated marketing calendar.
People & Team Support
- Manage and mentor one Social Media Coordinator, setting clear goals and expectations.
- Support team objectives as needed, including rapid-turnaround content, community engagement, and high-priority requests, occasionally outside standard hours.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- 1–4 years of experience in social media management and content creation, with a portfolio of successful campaigns.
- Strong creative and analytical skills, with the ability to use data to guide content decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
- Experience leading or supporting cross-functional campaigns from planning through execution.
- Familiarity with managing budgets and optimizing spend for performance.
- Proficient with content creation and editing tools (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar) and social media management platforms.
- Prior experience managing or mentoring team members is a plus.
- Comfortable representing the brand with partners or at industry events.
- Experience with CPG, loyalty, or rewards platforms is a strong plus.
